Earlier this week Pixies announced that they would be postponing the remainder of their highly-anticipated Australian tour due to fears of coronavirus. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever were set to support the legendary alt-rockers on their monumental Sydney Opera House forecourt performance. Unfortunately, it was not to be — thankfully, Rolling Blackouts CF have stepped in to save the day with a last-minute free show at Vic on the Park Hotel this Sunday.

“We’re extremely gutted that the PIXIES shows on the Sydney Opera House steps w us and RVG supporting aren’t going ahead,” the band shared in a Facebook post. “To cheer ourselves up we’ve hustled up a last minute free show. Returning to Vic on the Park Hotel where we played our first ever Sydney show in 2015 to no one (pictured)…Come help us improve on this turnout. Doors at 6 w special guests *Stay home if you’re sick*”

The Pixies tour postponement is just one of the many music events that have been forced to postpone or cancel entirely in the wake of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Just this week we’ve seen the cancellation of Download Festival Australia, Coachella, Under the Southern Stars and SXSW. Live Nation, AEG and a bunch of other leading promoters have also pulled all large tours scheduled for the month of March.

What: Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever – free gig
When: Sunday, March 15th – 6pm
Where: Vic on the Park,
2 Addison Rd, Marrickville NSW 2204
