Iconic music mag Rolling Stone recently ran a readers poll looking for the worst songs of the 90s. The end result is a list sure to please any mobile or wedding DJ, and a few tracks may bring back bad memories we all thought and hoped we’d forgotten long ago.
The 90s were an interesting time in music. Prefacing the dawn of the internet and illegal file sharing, at no other point in the history of music was so much money being made and so much artistic integrity being flushed down the toilet.
Not all music from the 90s was bad however, remember it was the decade that gave us Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Radiohead. It’s also the decade that gave us S Club 7, Eiffel 65, The Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, so we think you catch our drift.
We’re sure none of these artists will enjoy making the list, but they’ve got the squillions they made peddling their crap to the unsuspecting public to keep them company, like the Macarena which sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
We apologise in advance for getting these songs stuck in your head. If it makes you feel any better you can send it to someone you don’t like knowing they’ll hate it just as much.
