The Rolling Stones have responded to a claim made in a legal suit that they had planned to tour in 2011. A legal stoush between promoters Live Nation and their former Chairman Michael Cohl saw papers presented in court suggesting they would be touring.

A spokesperson for the band says “The Stones confirmed today they have no firm plans to tour at this time. They’ve also tried to distance themselves from the lawsuit, saying “Following the end of the 2007 A Bigger Bang world tour The Rolling Stones became free from any contractual arrangements or agreements with Michael Cohl. He is neither their representative nor their tour promoter.”

Cohl is suing Live Nation, claiming that they got in the way of his attempt to score the promoter role for the band’s next tour.
