Art rock pioneers Roxy Music have reunited for a performance at the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This performance marks the first time the band have played together since 2011.

Members Bryan Ferry, Phill Manzanera, and Andy Mackay all graced the stage of Brooklyn’s Barclays Centre to perform a slew of their most beloved hits. The band performed ‘In Every Dream Home a Heartache,’ ‘Out of the Blue,’ ‘Love Is the Drug,’ ‘More Than This,’ ‘Avalon,’ and ‘Editions of You.

Unfortunately, legendary producer Brian Eno and drummer Paul Thompson did not take part in the performance “due to other commitments”. But a semi-reunion is better than no reunion at all. Check out footage of the performances below.

Roxy Music were also inducted into the Hall of Fame. The band have been eligible since their debut single ‘Virginian Plain’ turned 25 back in 1997, though they were only inducted this year. Brian Ferry accepted the award on behalf of the band. Read his speech below:

“I’d like to thank everybody for this unexpected honor, especially our fans around the world, who’ve supported us through the years.

I’d also like to thank all the musicians, who played such an important part in the Roxy Music story, especially Paul Thompson and Brian Eno. Eddie Jobson, who’s here with us tonight. It’s quite a long list of bass players I’m afraid. And with that I’d like to thank Graham Simpson, Rik Kenton, John Porter, John Gustafson, John Wetton, Gary Tibbs, Sal Maida, Rick Wills, Alan Spenner and Neil Jason.”

As Pitchfork notes, back in 2014, after Roxy Music broke up following their 2014 reunion, Phil Manzanera shared in an interview that he believes “I think our job is done.”

The 2019 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony saw Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Knicks be inducted by former-One Direction star Harry Styles. Apparently, Nicks was a little confused over which band Harry Styles belonged to and mistakenly referred to him as a member of *NSYNC.

“Well, we met quite a long time ago actually,” Nicks shared. “What I really loved about Harry was that when he decided to make a solo record from *NSYNC…”

Reportedly, Nicks soon realised her faux par after people began to erupt in laughter. She quickly backtracked, sharing “Not ‘NSYNC, sorry. I’m never gonna live that one down. One Direction.” Read more about it now.
