Ruby Fields has gone from one strength to another in her seemingly short few years in music.
Just last week, Fields unleashed her “froth-worthy” just-released EP Permanent Hermit. That’s the EP, which, of course, features her Hottest 100 #8th place track ‘Dinosaurs’. She’s soon hitting up a tour across Australia, which includes multiple fast-selling shows nationwide. Gosh, what can’t this 22-year-old Cronulla indie lord do?
Today, we bring you what we believe are the 10 best Ruby Fields tracks. There aren’t a huge amount of Fields bangers to choose from [in fact, there are only 14], but being tasked with bringing it down to 10 is gonna be one big challenge. Alas, here goes – the 10 best tracks from Ruby Fields.
10. ‘Dodgy Neighbours (& Tax Evaders)

8. ‘The Unguarded Moment’ [The Church Cover for triple j Like A Version]
We were blessed with one of our favourite Like A Version segments at the beginning of the year, when Ruby Fields covered The Church’s beautiful track ‘The Unguarded Moment’.

Peak Date: N/A
Hottest 100/200 Peak: N/A
7. ‘Ritalin’
This fast-paced hilariously worded track could sounds like it could be the soundtrack to Cars or something. That’s until, of course, the words “Chronic masturbator, yeah her parents fucking hate her” come in. This always goes off at shows.
Peak Position: N/A
Peak Date: N/A
Hottest 100/200 Peak: #183 in 2018
6. ‘God Bless Turbulence’
This one’s a cute jangly guitar heart-warming number. Another great one from Fields’ new EP.
Peak Position: TBC
Peak Date: N/A
Hottest 100/200 Peak: N/A
5. ‘Climate’
This is the first single off Fields’ latest release. You probably heard it all over triple j just last month.

4. ‘Trouble’
Peak Position: TBC

3. ‘P Plates’
Arguably Ruby Fields’ most catchy tune, this one’s a bop and a half, and it’s got the office going crazy!
Peak Position: N/A
Peak Date: N/A
Hottest 100/200 Peak: #152 in 2017
2. ‘Dingo’
A freshly baked ballad from Ruby Fields’ new EP. A usually unheard falsetto can be heard throughout the track, in a beautiful side of Ruby we didn’t really know existed. This is sure to be a tear-jerker when she tours soon.
Peak Position: N/A
Peak Date: N/A
Hottest 100/200 Peak: #N/A
1. ‘Dinosaurs’
This one effortlessly takes the cake. Ruby Fields pulls our heart-strings with this relatable ballad. It took out #8 in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2018 – shoulda been higher, but that’s okay. Much more deserving of the “Bohemian Rhapsody of our generation” shit call made [jokingly] by Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton about Travis Scott’s ‘Sicko Mode’ earlier this year on Hottest 100 day.
Peak Position: N/A
Peak Date: N/A
Hottest 100/200 Peak: #9 in 2018
