Not surprisingly, for a band that has created its most definitive art during periods of extreme personal turbulence, Fleetwood Mac’s last few years have been a bit of a mess.
First Christine McVie rejoined the band after 16 years in semi-retirement, leading to a successful reunion tour. Then Stevie Nicks delayed recording and further touring plans as she embarked on her own solo dates. Fair enough. During the downtime Christine and Lindsey Buckingham made their own duets album, featuring John McVie and Mick Fleetwood on rhythm, alienating Stevie. Also, fair enough.
Well, it seems they’ve finally gotten it together, and are actively working towards a world tour, starting next year.
As McVie told BBC Radio’s Alex Jones: “We’re going to start rehearsing in March next year. The tour is around June. It will be global.”
The last time the band played together as a five-some was during the 2014-2015 On With The Show world tour.
