Simple Creatures, the duo which consists of Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus, have released a brand new track, announcing a second EP coming our way this year.

Earlier this year Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth surprised fans across the globe by announcing the formation of their brand new duo, Simple Creatures, releasing an EP titled Strange Love. Now their back with a follow-up EP coming our way, and this one is called Everything Opposite.

Everything Opposite is set for a release on October 11, with its lead single being the brand new track, ‘Thanks, I Hate It’, which has just been released by the duo.

‘Thanks, I Hate It’ is a track that brings to the fold distortion-heavy and synth focused melodies, with an infectious and catchy chorus to boot. This is something that both Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus have perfected in their respective band, and it’s just a delight to hear them joining forces yet again for their side project. And the lyrics are simply divine:

“I don’t owe you anything / But I’ll give you everything / Watch you pile it up and sing / ‘Thanks, I hate it.’
No, you’re never satisfied / Now you wanna run and hide / Can’t you look me in the eyes and say / ‘Thanks, I hate it.'”

Everything Opposite as an EP sees the brand new track on the EP as its closer, and follows the previously release project-opener ‘Special’, as well as tracks ‘One Little Lie’, ‘Need Me’, ‘The Wolf’ and ‘NVM’. Pre-orders are already available as we speak.

With Blink keeping an active tour schedule this summer, shows with the duo have been limited, but the pair are expecting to take the stage later this year in Australia for the traveling Good Things Festival Dec. 6-8. Be sure to watch them live while you get the chance.
