During a recent interview on British television, the singer recalled an alleged confrontation with Prince that also left a female member of his band with broken ribs.
According to Sinead O’Connor, the incident with Prince took place after the release of her version of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.
Interviewed by Good Morning Britain, O’Connor alluded that Prince’s drug use at the time was a cause of his extreme behaviour.
“I’m not the only one he went at. One of the girls in his band was in the hospital with broken ribs at the time.”

“He was wanting me to be a protege of his and ordered that I don’t swear in my interviews,” O’Connor said of the incident, where Prince allegedly called her to his Los Angeles home.
“I told him where he could go and he went for me. He went upstairs and got a pillow and he had something hard in the pillow. I ran out of his house, hiding behind a tree.”
Following an alleged chase, O’Connor said she was only able to get away by ringing a neighbour’s doorbell for help.
Recently, O’Connor has been back in the headlines, but for positive reasons. Her performance on Ireland’s The Late Late Show showed the singer looking healthy and on form, following a series of social media posts made when she was ‘angry and unwell’.
With regard to these allegations against Prince, his estate has yet to reply.
