Fans now have a concrete idea of when Slayer will formally call it quits, with the band announcing the final dates of their farewell tour today.

Early last year, Slayer announced that after almost 40 years together, the band would be going out on a high and calling it a day. Soon enough, the band headed out on a global trek which saw them play shows the world over as part of their farewell tour.

Thankfully, Australian fans got a chance to wave the band goodbye as part of the Download Festival this year, while New Zealand fans’ farewell was bittersweet, with the group’s Christchurch show being cancelled in the wake of the horrific terror attack just days earlier.

Now, after teasing the arrival of their “final chapter” last week, Slayer have revealed the final-ever dates of their career.

As Variety reports, Slayer are set to kick off their final-ever run of American dates this November, with their ‘Final Campaign’ formally beginning in Asheville, North Carolina on November 2nd.

Over the coming weeks, the group will tour the country, hitting up big-name locations like New York City’s Madison Square Garden, and the fittingly-named TaxSlayer Center in Illinois, before wrapping it all up with a show at The Forum in Los Angeles on November 30th.

If you’re keen on making the trek over to see these shows, you’ll be in fine company, with Primus, Ministry, and Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals accompanying the band on all dates.

Here’s hoping the band’s last-ever show gets filmed so that us poor fans who can’t make it to their final show might have something to remember the band by.
