Slipknot know how to keep their fans on their toes. The past few months have seen the band plough fans with teaser-upon-teaser. As we countdown the days until the August 9 release of their forthcoming record. The band have dropped yet another tasty new teaser that has us all fanging for more.
In a trailer shared on the band’s socials, Slipknot have given fans a glimpse into the vocal samples that may feature on the new record. The video features a montage of grotesque imagery and is soundtracked by Corey Taylor’s grotesque, guttural vocals. At the 28-second mark “SMPTE UNIVERSAL LEADER,” appears on the screen. Whilst the teaser doesn’t give much away, it certainly sets a menacing and ominous tone for the forthcoming release. Watch it below.

The band released their last record .5: The Gray Chapter in 2014. The band dropped single ‘All Out Life’ in October last year, whether this track will feature on the forthcoming record or will act as a standalone single has not been confirmed.
This past month has seen Slipknot encounter legal woes after it was revealed that founding Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn was suing the band. Fehn claims that he had not received proper payment during his time in the band.
It has been reported that Fehn believed everyone in Slipknot received equal pay for their roles in the band. But recently discovered that some of his bandmates were running other business entities and receiving money from the group’s activities. Fehn is seeking for the band’s finances to be audited, and payment for the “damages and profits” he claims he is owed.
Slipknot are scheduled to hit Australian shores later this year with Metallica as part of their ‘WorldWired’ tour. Tour dates and ticket information below.
