Having trouble settling the little ones down to sleep? Well, it looks like you can now rely on the talents of Snoop Dogg who has just released an album of lullaby renditions for kids.
Ask anyone and they’ll likely agree that one of the most important things that young children should be exposed to is music.
While numerous studies claim that listening to classical music helps to promote brain growth, the calming effect of ambient music can help young children drift off to sleep as they’re serenaded with sweet tunes.
For over 13 years though, Los Angeles label Rockabye Baby Music has been helping send kids off to the land of nod with lullaby renditions of popular music acts.
That’s right, feeling sick of the saccharine melodies often found on children’s albums? Send your kids to sleep with ambient renditions of tracks by the likes of Metallica, Queens Of The Stone Age, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Iron Maiden, and much more.
Now though, there’s a brand new entry in the series, and it’s a veritable celebration of west coast hip-hop.

As The Source notes, the latest edition to the Rockabye Baby! series of albums is Lullaby Renditions Of Snoop Dogg, and features the g-funk icon’s classic hip-hop tracks suited for the younger listener.
Kicking things off with the classic ‘Who Am I (What’s My Name)?’, you can move along to tracks like ‘Gin And Juice’, ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’, and even ‘Young, Wild & Free’. Needless to say, if you want your kids to get in on the hip-hop scene from a young age, now’s the time.
The new collection of tracks was released in the US this week as part of the Black Friday Record Store Day sales, with digital and CD versions being released on December 6th.
In related news, Snoop Dogg was recently at the centre of a humorous controversy after a US college faced backlash after booking the artist for a “family” event.
Performing with a team of pole-dancers for his performance, it’s clear that organisers either didn’t do their prior research, or they got wind of this lullaby record and figured that’s what would be on offer.
