Soundgarden’s surviving members Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd seem to be hinting to fans that something is in the works… though we’re not exactly sure what that is just yet.
An array of social media pages for “Nude Dragons” have begun been popping up across various social media platforms, of late, with that name being the pseudonym Soundgarden used in a 2010 surprise reunion show in Seattle, which marked the first time the group had performed on stage in 13 years.
In fact, “Nude Dragons” is an anagram of Soundgarden – and at the time of writing, an Instagram and Twitter account has now been created under the name while featuring photos of the trio, so what exactly does it all mean?
Well, ICYMI, the remaining Soundgarden members have been locked in a bitter court battle with former frontman Chris Cornell’s widow Vicky, with the latter claiming that the band has withheld hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties while the band members are alleging that Vicky is refusing to release Chris’ vocal tracks which belong to the band.
Soundgarden also accused Vicky of using funds from a 2019 charity concert for her own “personal purposes.”
“Vicky Cornell did not have the intention of using some or all of the revenue from the Cornell Concert for charitable purposes, but rather for personal purposes for herself and her family,” the suit claimed.
It added that she knew her charitable “representation was false, or exhibited recklessness and negligence as to its truth or falsity, for the purpose and intent of inducing Soundgarden into agreeing to perform at the Cornell Concert without compensation.” It also claimed Soundgarden “suffered damages” and “reputational harm” as a result.

Considering the awkward sitch, it’s likely that by performing under their alternate moniker would allow the group to avoid being embroiled further in messy legalities currently going on regarding the Soundgarden name.
Considering that the Nude Dragons social media accounts currently contain just three snaps of Thayil, Cameron and Shepherd without much other info, it looks like we’ll just have to chuck them a follow and keep a close eye on what the guys are planning.
