In the wake of last week’s shock cancellation of the Soundwave Revolution festival, promoter AJ Maddah has remembered how to use his Twitter account, which had mysteriously gone quiet for a week in the lead up to the cancellation announcement.
He’s revealed that approximately 30 of the bands originally promised for the line up will still make the trek down under and that they will perform at ‘mini-revolutions’ to be held in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne; in addition to some club shows.
He’s used Twitter to announce that although he’s still working on Perth and Sydney details, fans can expect tickets to the event to be “somewhere around $97” and will feature “15 to 17 bands, 2 stages, no clashes”. He says that the ‘Mini Revs’ will feature the punk bands that had been announced on the line up and who are still willing to come down under, while the evening club shows will feature the metal bands.
Responding to a chorus of complaints from fans claiming they were struggling to get their Soundwave Revolution tickets refunded and that Soundwave Revolution kept removing their complaints from its Facebook wall, Maddah declared “Despite the advice from legal and ticketing, etc, we’re refunding 100%, including postage, booking fees, credit card charges, etc. As far as I am concerned anything less would be bullshit, no matter what the fine print says or what is legal.”
