Reports are coming in from Soundwave in Melbourne today at the Showgrounds that part of the framework holding up the roof of the main stage has dislodged itself during Bad Religion’s set.
According to eyewitnesses Soundwave roadies and tech crew were quick to respond, attempting to reattach the framework, which was hanging out over the crowd. Their attempts were unsuccessful however and the remainder of Bad Religion’s set has been abandoned due to safety concerns.
The area surrounding the main stage has also been cleared as the festival crew scramble frantically to fix the stage so that headliners Marilyn Manson and System Of A Down can perform their sets.

Organisers are yet to make an official announcement on what exactly went wrong, but thousands of Soundwave fans will no doubt be praying the interruption is only temporary to what has otherwise been reported to be one of the best festivals in recent years.
