Splendour in the Grass has announced Splendour XR, a virtual reality edition of Australia’s most beloved festival set to take place from Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th of July.

The online spectacle will see performances from a slew of genre-spanning artists including the likes of The Killers, Charli XCX, Grimes, The Avalanches, Denzel Curry, Band of Horses, Little Simz, Kaytranada, Phoebe Bridgers, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, What So Not and more.

Splendour XR will allow you to build a virtual avatar of yourself to meander around the beloved parklands without the dreaded two-day Dr. Marten blister. Attendees can experience the festival solo or purchase an XR Party Pack filled with a trove of merch that’ll make this experience feel tangible.

Splendour XR was created in collaboration with San Francisco based platform developers Sansar “Working with Splendour we have been challenged to go above and beyond anything we’ve done before. This is going to be the most impressive virtual live event that the consumer market has ever seen, and we can say that with absolute confidence” said Pouyan Afkary, Business Development, Sansar.

Splendour XR will air globally on July 24-25 from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tickets available from $19.99 per day / Existing Splendour in the Grass IRL ticket holders receive $2.50 off early bird purchase. You can purchase tickets here
