In what may seem like a bold move, The St. Jeromes Laneway Festival will be staging it’s first event in Singapore in 2011. A far cry from the festival which began 7 years ago in the Caledonian Lane laneway adjoining the now defunct St. Jeromes bar, St Jeromes Singapore will take place on the 29th January in the picturesque surroundings of the 7500 Capacity Fort Canning Park.
The Singapore leg of the festival will be a scaled back yet solid affair, with the line-up as so:
!!! ( Chk Chk Chk)
Beach House
Deerhunter
Foals
Holy Fuck
Ladyhawke (also playing the NZ leg)
The Temper Trap
Warpaint
Yeasayer
“I woke up this morning and thought this is insane. To be honest, I have no idea on how it’s going to go. We have a pretty realistic break even, we’re just going into an unknown terrain but it feels pretty exciting,” said festival co-promoter Danny Rogers, who co-promotes the festival with Michael Chugg.
