Stranger things have happened, wunderkind Finn Wolfhard and his ridiculously adorable band Calpurnia have taken on a Weezer classic ‘Say It Ain’t So’. The band recorded a two-song set for Spotify’s ‘Singles’ series. The session featured a track off their debut EP Scout and the Weezer cover.
In a statement, Calpurnia noted that they decided to cover this Weezer song “a great way to pay homage to a band that’s changed music many times over.” They continued to explain that they were “Inspired by Weezer’s triumphant cover of Toto’s Africa, we decided to take on Say It Ain’t So, a fan-favourite song on the console game Rock Band. We played that song so many times in the game it inspired us to actually learn how to play it as a band!” So wholesome. Check out the cover belo.
