Celebrating the influential music that originated from the legendary Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee – the birthplace of rock and roll – Sun Rising provide a live show that focuses on the early years of the iconic studio (1950-1957) and its illustrious roster, including Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Rufus Thomas Jnr, Howlin Wolf, BB King & more.

More than a simple tribute show though, Sun Rising’s Songs That Made Memphis pays homage to the artists in song and performance with the utmost fidelity while providing some informative and entertaining anecdotes about the history of Sun Records and its roster along the way.

Since officially launching in August to a full house, Sun Rising have headlined the Camperdown Rockabilly Festival and have performed to packed audiences at venues including The Northcote Social Club, The Palais Hepburn Springs, The Karova Lounge, and Melbourne’s iconic Cherry Bar. The recent Adelaide Fringe shows were an absolute riot with a second sold out show proving that the band is gaining a brilliant reputation!

The five-piece are now excited to announce that they’ll be bringing their unique mix of historical tribute and modern performance to the road for a regional tour this winter, in a special three-date trip through Victoria.
