It is a rare band that is able to match the quality of its stage performance with that of its recorded repertoire. Unfortunately, if one is to judge by their new single, Lady Strangelove cannot be put into this category. At least not yet, anyway.

Sweet Exchange by Lady Strangelove

‘Sweet Exchange’ is just under five minutes of psychedelic light rock with a hint of Latino and liberal splashings of space-age sound effects. Sound confused? It is a bit. It feels as though the lads are pulling out every gun in their arsenal, but no war has been declared. While this may be effective in their live shows – which are certainly recommended – over mp3 it serves to somewhat overshadow their talent.
