Three years on from their last Aussie tour, English alt-rock icons Swervedriver are set to return to Australia this year with a series of highly-anticipated tour dates.

Back in the ’90s, it felt as though Swervedriver were one of those bands you just couldn’t get away from. With a range of acclaimed EPs, and a handful of stunning albums, the group’s alt-rock sound saw them fit perfectly into the genre, quickly establishing them as one of the leaders of England’s alternative scene.

As the years went on, the group toured relentlessly, and even found themselves in Australia back in 1998 for an extensive tour which saw them supporting Powderfinger.

However, this meant the end of the band for quite some time, with a decade-long hiatus soon following. Although Swervedriver would reunite in 2008, it would be another eight years before we received a full-length album, with 2015’s I Wasn’t Born To Lose You serving as an amazing comeback.

Now, following Aussie shows in 2011, 2013, and 2016, Swervedriver are set to return to our shores once again, touring in support of their latest record, Future Ruins, just in time for their 30th anniversary celebrations as well.

Kicking things off at Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom in September, the group – comprised of mainstays Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge, drummer Mikey Jones, and bassist Mick Quinn – will then hit up Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth.

Tickets to the group’s forthcoming tour are on sale now, with these shows undoubtedly set to prove as one of the finest examples of alternative-rock that you’ll find anywhere.
