After relatively disappointing releases by M83 and Justice of late, there’s a gap in the market for some anthemic psychedelic indie dance. Fresh out of Oxford in the UK, the band are still finding their feet live; but with the release of ‘Swimhaus Johannesburg’ you get the feeling that these boys are set to make their mark. Think late 70s New York disco, late 80s Chicago House and a hat tipped to the ecstasy addled Happy Mondays at their best.

Compressed stabbing guitars and liberal use of Roland 303 and 808s hark back to Depeche Mode, Tom Tom Club and Arthur Baker, while creating a heady rush of dancefloor euphoria that’s already seen them create a deafening buzz amongst East London hipsters – all of which may well be deserved.
