The wait is finally over. After months of ambiguity and teasing, Tenacious D have finally announced a new album… and web show.

Both titled Post-Apocalypto, this six-part series will premiere on Youtube on September 28th, whilst the album will arrive on November 2nd.

Post-Apocalypto is the Tenacious D’s first album since 2012’s Rize of the Fenix. It’s produced by bassist John Spiker and features rock legend Dave Grohl on drums. The 21-song album will be released both digitally and on a translucent green vinyl.

The band have shared a teaser for the tv show, which you can watch below. Each frame of the video series was hand-drawn by Jack Black.

Post-Apocalypto finds Tenacious D thrust into a world of complete and utter destruction following the drop of an atomic bomb. Surviving the attack in classic cinematic fashion (a good old imperishable 1950’s refrigerator), the duo quickly learns that new forms of evil have spawned from the blast. One thing becomes apparent — for humanity to prevail, Tenacious D must save the world.”
