Combining the visual splendour of dance, film and videography, Melbourne’s very own avant-garde pop connoisseurs Tetrahedra have revealed an immersive video EP, ‘SOMA’. The group describe the EP as a “17 minute multifaceted experience for the ears and soul, the work explores the idea of the human form as a “sonically adventurous final product”.
Esteemed visual artists Prue Stent & Honey Long offered their creative direction for the work, having previously commissioned art for Gucci, Sugar Mountain Festival and Sydney Opera House, complemented by fellow artistic director Isabella Connelly, video director Zoe Scoglio, choreographer Natalie Abbott and cinematographer Amy Dellar’s talent.
Thee narrative in SOMA is inspired by a relationship and “speculates concerns we have with being at the mercy of another person and their indecisiveness” says Honey Long. The EP features a collaborative with a variety of creatives who offered their input to the visual EP.
The project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body and was supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
