Melbourne’s Texture Like Sun have been recording their debut self-titled EP for over 12 months, and it’s now time to launch the EP with three special shows down the east coast. Young indie-folk purveyors Patrick James (and band) will join Texture Like Sun on tour, celebrating their new single ‘Brighter Lights’.

The tour takes place mid November and will see Texture Like Sun and Patrick James visit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Tickets are on sale Tuesday October 16.

Over the span of 2011 and 2012, Texture Like Sun’s self-titled EP was recorded across Darwin and Melbourne’s Bounce County Studios. The EP was produced by award winning Pip Norman (Sparkadia, Ash Grunwald) and mixed by Dan Rejmer – a man who counts Bjork, Foals and Paul Kelly among his working credits. Pip Norman and Texture Like Sun frontman Mark Pearl previously played alongside each other in well known Hip Hop group TZU.

While the six pieceʼs sound couldn’t be further away from TZU, their cohesive approach remains apparent; evident through the effortless guild that bridges each of the songs on the EP.

Patrick James is excited to release the next single ‘Brighter Lights’ from his forthcoming EP recorded in various bedrooms, loungerooms, nooks and crannys between Byron Bay and Sydney Airport.
