The Bob Dylan Australian Tour 2014 has expanded once more, adding a special headline show in Sydney to meet overwhelming demand. Promoters Chugg Entertainment have confirmed that in addition to the extensive run of dates across all major capital cities, Bob Dylan has added a very special show at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on Sunday 7th September (adding to the three Sydney State Theatre dates already confirmed for the Bob Dylan Australian Tour 2014). Tickets go on sale Friday 4th July, 9am.
Tickets for the Bob Dylan Australian Tour 2014 have already been in high demand, with additional shows announced in Melbourne and Sydney in addition to previously confirmed dates in Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, and Adelaide. The hugely influential, long-celebrated singer-songwriter and his band announced they would be returning Down Under for a tour of the nation’s theatres this August upon the celebration of Bob Dylan’s 73rd birthday yesterday.
For the first time in over two decades, Bob Dylan draws the fans closer with performances in some of the most iconic theatre venues in the country. Fans can anticipate a musical event of depth, grace and significance, delivered by one of the greats, heading to Australia for the first time since playing Bluesfest 2011.
“I happened to go to dinner with his drummer [George G. Receli] said ‘that’s still one of our favourite shows ever…’,” Bluesfest promoter told Tone Deaf in a recent interview.”
“You know the thing about Bob Dylan, there’s so much mystique … but I see Bob regularly hanging out with musicians, he’s not a total recluse.”
The Bob Dylan Australian Tour 2014 also marks his first visit since the release of his 35th and latest studio album, Tempest, released in 2012. “We should consider ourselves blessed to even have this artist here with us and know that whatever he throws our way will be intriguing and thought provoking,” wrote our Tone Deaf reviewer.
