It’s been all quiet on The Butterfly Effect front for some time now, but the boys – Clint, Kurt, Ben and Glenn – are back and if their brand-new single, UnBroken, the first of its kind from the group in 10 years is anything to go by – which it totally is – they mean business.

Within the first few seconds, Unbroken sends forth a tidal wave of unrelenting Australian rock, the very same that powered The Butterfly Effect throughout numerous EPs and Albums since their 1999 inception. No doubt adding to this specific flavour is the help of Forrester Savell behind the mixing desk.

Punchy, dramatic and broody, Unbroken makes it clear that this isn’t a comeback – not even close, nor is it a “return to form”. This is simply The Butterfly Effect picking up where they left off.

The last time we were sucker punched through our speakers with new material was on The Butterfly effects last album Final Conversation of Kings which dropped back in 2008.

“UnBroken is a snap shot taken from a very dark, difficult and personally tumultuous time in my life.” Says vocalist Clint Boge. “I realised my whole world was falling apart, relationships were breaking down and everything I’d known was crumbling around me. With seemingly very little to hold onto I found an inner strength and the will to keep going, to keep getting out of bed although every part of me wanted to hide away from the world. This song and these lyrics represent that struggle, to remain unBroken.”

The good news doesn’t end there. As well as the new jam, The Butterfly Effect have also announced a cheeky collaboration with Green Beacon Brewing Co, the results of which are a very cool signature beer inspired by the “Begins Here” album cover. The beverage will be available all throughout the land not to mention their (mostly sold out) headline tour dates.

Unbroken is officially released Friday, 16th August.
