2018 is undoubtedly a good year to be a fan of The Cat Empire, with the group releasing their latest single, ‘Kila’, today.

The fourth song released by The Cat Empire this year, ‘Kila’ is the latest instalment in the band’s monthly reveal of new tunes in the lead-up to their latest album.

‘Kila’ was written by Felix Riebl and was recorded with long-time collaborator and producer Jan Skubiszewski. Featuring the ferocious live energy that the band displays, this tune features a massive chorus, infectious rhythm, and serves as yet another stunning inclusion to an already-impressive catalogue of classic tracks for the group.

“’Kila’ is one of those songs you write and know that an album will be built around it,” explains Felix Riebl. “It follows on from songs by The Cat Empire like ‘Brighter Than Gold’ and ‘Steal The Light,’ which both have dark verses and anthemic choruses, perfect for a festival.”

“Lyrically I wanted to write something edgy, joyful, mysterious, where people might mistake the words and that be a good thing. Kill a man Jaro – Kilimanjaro.”

With the band having recently wrapped up a sold out Australian tour, the band are set to spend all of November on a huge tour of Europe before they head home in December for a handful of local dates.

Don’t miss out seeing one of Australia’s most beloved groups performing live, because you might just regret hearing amazing tracks like ‘Kila’ being performed.
