The Cure have pulled out all the stops in celebration of their 40th anniversary. The legendary post-punk band have announced that they will be staging their own festival in America later this year.

The Pasadena Daydream Festival is set to take place on Saturday, August 31st at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. A Pasadena Daydream it is, the festival boasts a stunning lineup personally curated by The Cure frontman Robert Smith. Seminal alternative acts The Pixies, Deftone, Mogwai, Throwing Muses, Chelsea Wolfe, The Twilight Sad, The Joy Formidable, and Emma Ruth Rundle will all grace the stages of the Rose Bowl.

This isn’t the only anniversary celebration The Cure have under their sleeve. The band are currently gearing up to touch down in Australia for a slew of back-to-back shows at the Sydney Opera House, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their career-defining record, Disintegration. Dates and ticket information at the bottom of the article.

Earlier this month it was revealed that the forthcoming The Cure record will likely be the bands last. In an interview with SiriusXM, keyboardist Roger O’Donnell explained “I personally think it will be the last Cure record. I know it’s been said a million times before, but at this stage in our lives…”

The as-yet-untitled record is set to drop on Halloween this year. Smith has described the record as being “So dark. It’s incredibly intense.” “And I’ve waited 10 years to do something that means something. It’s going to work really well.”
