After two years away from our shores, English glam-rock icons The Darkness have announced their long-awaited return to Australia.

Ever since The Darkness first formed back in 2000, they’ve been pretty reliable when it comes to Aussie tours. In fact, even with a five-year hiatus in the middle of it all, the band have visited Australia in support of each of their studio albums to date.

Following their last trip to Australia for the Groovin The Moo festival in 2017, the band have now revealed they’ll be returning to our shores early next year, performing in support of their upcoming album, Easter Is Cancelled.

Scheduled to be released in early October, Easter Is Cancelled serves as the band’s first album since Pinewood Smile in 2017, and features the raucous ‘Roll And Roll Deserves To Die’, which the group released earlier this month.

However, Aussie fans won’t have to wait too much longer to hear these new tracks performed live, with the band revealing they’ll be playing a five-date tour of the country in March of 2020.

Kicking off in Perth on March 11th, the group will hit up Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane across the next week, before heading over to New Zealand to play a gig in Auckland.

Tickets to the band’s upcoming tour go on sale from Thursday, August 22nd at 9am AEST, with an early bird ticket pre-sale kicking off on Tuesday, August 20th.
