No, really! Lycra and spandex manufacturers worldwide are rejoicing with the news that glam/joke rockers The Darkness are rumoured to reform. The band infamously fell apart after the world ignored their second album and flamboyant front man Justin Hawkins went in to rehab for a massive coke and booze habit. He fell out with his brother, guitarist Dan Hawkins, at the same time. After almost five years of not speaking, London’s The Sun reckons that drummer Ed Graham helped patch things up and along with new bass player Richie Edwards, they’re rehearsing for a comeback tour.
Update 12:00pm
Looks like the ‘sticklers for the facts’ at The Sun got it wrong again. Justin Hawkins has taken to Twitter to deny the story.
According to his tweet, “The funniest aspect of the rumour: Ed’s new son has brought us together. It takes a sick mind to come up with that stuff…I’m going to stand down from my position as vocalist and hand the microphone to Ed’s imaginary son. He’s got a cracking voice.”
