Australian hip hop is having a renaissance and South Sydney rapper The Kid LAROI is as the forefront.

The wunderkind rapper first came into our periphery when he was just 14. After uploading his earworm of a track, ‘Disconnect’ to triple j’s Unearthed competition at the eleventh hour, and ultimately became one of the competition’s finalists.

Since then he’s cut his teeth performing on the Aussie live circuit with acts like Manu Crook$ and Tkay Maidza, as well as tackling support duties for emo-rap pioneer Juice WRLD’s final Australian tour.

It’s just gotten crazier for the 16-year-old since. This year alone, the rapper has appeared on a slew of projects including his single with Lil Tecca, ‘Diva’, a feature on Y2K’s ‘Go Dumb’ a Juice WRLD collaboration ‘GO’, and, most recently, an homage to the late Juice WRLD with single ‘Tell Me Why’.

‘Tell Me Why’ arrived the week following the release of the posthumous Juice WRLD record, Legends Never Die.

“I got to learn from a real life legend,” LAROI wrote of his late mentor. “It’s been a little over 6 months since you been gone, and it still doesn’t feel right. before we even met you were my favourite artist, and I still think everyday how cool it was that I got to b damn near family with my idol.”

Now, the rap trailblazer has detailed the tracklist for his highly-anticipated, debut mixtape, Fuck Love. The record boasts collaborations with Juice WRLD, Lil Mosey, and Corbin, and features fifteen tracks. Fuck Love will arrive this Friday, July 24th.
