We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files, but we don’t like regurgitating press releases or asking the easy questions. At Tone Deaf we only ask the tough questions, so just hold still, grit your teeth, clench your buttocks and be still while we put on the rubber gloves, apply the thumbscrews, and pull out our thermometer while you open up and say ahhhhhhhhhhh… Truthful answers only or we drink your rider while you’re on stage. Miss Molly Jean Morrison gives us the low down.

Who gets the most ‘off stage action’ in the band?  What’s the secret to their success?

Well all the boys are married so you’d think that I would, especially with all the tarty outfits I wear on stage.  I may need to take a different approach.

Have you ever been arrested? Where were you, and what was it for?

Well yes, yes I have, but I was completely innocent. I was driving back from Golden Plains when the 5.0 and the Highway Patrol camera crew pulled me over for driving a stolen vehicle.   I was more concerned about my festival appearance for the camera (and the pot in my pocket). Obviously there had been a misunderstanding; I had borrowed the van from an upstanding member of the community.  Apparently that upstanding member had brought the van with dodgy papers (unbeknownst to him) from someone that had stolen it from a church.  I was let off but the smell of urine in the back of the divvy van will forever be with me.

What’s been the worst day job you’ve ever had?

Handing out falafels in the stinking heat on Acland St, that and working on a party bus with Aussie and English tourists in Barcelona.  It was Barcelona though, so probably not as bad as the stinkin falafels.

Sex, drugs and groupies – In what order do you prefer them and how often?

Groupies + drugs = sex.  Simple maths

Take us back to the first gig you went to. Where was it and what was the venue?

It was Salt n Pepper at Rod Laver I think. I was 13, standing at the front, and on stage directly in front of me were two of the biggest most beautiful black dancers I ever did see.  And all they were wearing?  Schlong socks, that looked like giraffes, and they were dancing those things all up in my face like it was nobodies business. Serious business.  I think I may have gone to confession afterwards.

What’s your favourite site to download music from and do you ever pay for it? Can we find any of your releases there?

Download music?  I still record mix tapes off the radio haven’t managed to record one of our songs yet

What’s the furthest you’d go to win over a new fan?

I make a killer apple pie, so I’d give that a go first then reassess.
