Hospitality giants Merivale are launching a summer live music program, with the aim to pump new life in the veins of Sydney. Justin Hemmes and co have curated a free programme chock-a-block with some of Australia’s brightest musicians to play a bunch of gigs over the Summer.

This Is Sydney launches tonight, and they’ve enlisted the help of hometown heroes The Preatures to kick off the proceedings. The rock legends will descend upon Palings between 6-8pm to play a free live set.

This week will also see Thandi Phoenix conquer the Palings stage, Kira Puru bring her pop perfection to Pool Club and Brendan Maclean crack off a grand piano performance at Establishment.

“We have a chance to create a vibrant future and rebuild our city to the world class destination we once were, and can be again. This is about creating a safe, fun and diverse culture that sees our CBD streets brimming with light and life at night,” shared Justin Hemmes in a statement.

“The tide is turning, but we want to ramp it up. ‘This is Sydney’ is fuelled by a desire and passion to make Sydney the best place it can possibly be, with great food, live music, dancing, excitement and surprise every night of the week. Let’s get out, have fun and enjoy our spectacular city”.
