Aussie dance legends The Presets have just been announced as a replacement act for US funk-dance duo Chromeo at this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival. The enduring duo, who just released their fourth studio album HI VIZ, will join the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Gang Of Youths, Vampire Weekend and more.

Chromeo have cited “health and wellbeing” as their reason for pulling out of the festival and their upcoming sideshows in a statement issued to Splendour ticketholders (or funkateers & chromettes, if you will).

“To our funkateers & chromettes in Australia,

We are truly sorry to announce that our upcoming July shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Splendour In The Grass have been cancelled. It’s been so long since we’ve visited you last and we were so excited to play for you. Unfortunately, the rigors of our touring schedule have caught up with us and we need to prioritize our health and wellbeing. We’re being told that this period would be best served as a time to rest. This was not an easy call to make. We hope you understand. Please know that we’re doing everything we can to reschedule our time in Australia. We will see you all soon.

 Lots of love,

Dave and Pee”

The Presets have just wrapped up a massive Australian tour, in which they played huge venues across the country. Considering the duo have endured as one of the country’s best live acts for over a decade now, we’re sure their Splendour set will be high priority on punters timetables.

This year also marks the ten-year anniversary of their seminal album Apocalypso, so you can bank on their set featuring plenty of bangers off that record to get the party started.
