In what comes as disappointing news to live music lovers, THIS THAT festival has been rescheduled to October and November 2021.
After being originally planned for February 2021, festival organisers today announced that ongoing COVID-19 regulations have necessitated postponing the shows.
In a statement posted to the festival’s social media channels, organisers explained that it was advice from “local, State and National authorities” that led to the decision to reschedule.
“We’re really sorry THIS THAT fam, we knew this wouldn’t be easy & this news is going to sting,” the statement read.
“Due to State Government and current standing Federal Government Public Health Orders regarding COVID-19, multi-stage mass music gathering events are not permissible in ‘true’ festival format just yet… we’re sorry for the inconvenience this causes everyone involved,” it continued.
“Coupled with planning timelines, this has made it impossible for us to deliver the well-loved THIS THAT festival format by February – one that would both satisfy current government compliance, and more importantly give you the full THIS THAT experience you’ve come to love. ”
The festival is now currently scheduled for Saturday, October 30th at Sandstone Point, QLD, and Saturday, November 6th in Newcastle, NSW.

Organisers have assured punters that they are working with the festival’s line up to lock each act in for the rescheduled dates.
Currently, the all-Aussie line-up features the likes of Allday, Client Liaison, The Chats, Mallrat, The Presets, The Rubens and San Cisco.
While attendees are encouraged to hold on to their tickets to support live music, those who can’t make the new dates can request a refund here.
