Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has told an audience of high school students that it’s “only a matter of time” until the music business collapses. In an interview for new high school textbook called The Rax Active Citizen Toolkit, Mr Self Loathing claims the end of the mainstream music business will be no great loss, and that “[It’ll be] only a matter of time,” he says. “Months rather than years before the music business establishment completely folds.” Radiohead played their little part in the collapse of the music business by being the first mainstream band to release an album effectively for free online, In Rainbows, where fans were invited to merely make a donation for it to an online honesty box.
