Melbourne’s Wheeler Centre has been putting on some absolutely cracking talks and discussions from and with musicians lately. Just last month they featured a fascinating discussion between Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein and Double J’s Myf Warhurst.

Now, they’ve tapped Tim Rogers to do his very own talk. Only the You Am I frontman won’t be regaling us with tales of his lengthy music career or recounting sweaty, grimy nights spent on stage in dingy pubs. In fact, quite the opposite.

Between a Rock and a Hard Scrub‘ will explore Rogers’ obsession with cleaning, as part of the Wheeler Centre’s ongoing series of talks about surprising private passions. Tim Rogers: dirty rock god by night, neat freak by day.

According to the Wheeler Centre, Rogers’ “enthusiasm for scrubbing, mopping and dusting” was nurtured privately whilst he made the rounds as a frontman for what he describes as a ‘grubby rock band’ over the last 20 years.

“It’s not easy to be a clean-freak in the world of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll,” a teaser for the talk reads. If you want to learn a thing or two about what to do with some Ajax and some steel wool from an Aussie rock legend, check out the details below.
