Japanese rocker TK from Ling tosite sigure is back with new EP yesworld, with music videos for the title track and a remix of ‘Unravel’.

Japanese rocker TK from Ling tosite sigure is back with a long-anticipated double-release. Earlier today, TK (full name Toru Kitajima) dropped his EP yesworld and an accompanying audiovisual work titled Acoustique Electrick Sessions 2020.

The EP release comes accompanied by two music videos, the first being the title track ‘yesworld’, which TK introduced to audiences last year in a live performance. The claustrophobic music video features jarring red and blue lighting along narrow corridors, inspired by the styles of David Lynch and Gaspar Noé, creating a stifling atmosphere similar to what we’ve been feeling for the past year, thanks to the pandemic.

The other is a remix of his hit single ‘Unravel’, most famous as the opening song of the anime Tokyo Ghoul. The remix, helmed by Yorushika’s n-buna, stars the actor Takayuki Yamada slowly dissolving into chaos, with multiple parallels to the anime itself.

The five-track album also features a reconstructed version of ‘Dramatic Slow Motion’, and the one-take renditions of ‘Unravel’ and ‘Copy Light’, which TK performed last year during his appearance on the popular Youtube channel The First Take.

The accompanying audiovisual work is a 13-track throwback to TK’s live ‘Billboard Tour: Acoustique Electrick Session Vol.2’, featuring performances from the same along with two additional tracks ‘Tokio’ and ‘Missing Ling’, originally performed at the Acoustique Electrick Session for 0 in December 2020.

Those grabbing the limited edition of the album are also in for a separate blu-ray disc containing behind-the-scenes footage of the recording and rehearsals for TK’s 2020 album Sainou, with a studio live session of the same.
