Tom Morello has unleashed a defiant musical statement against President Donald Trump’s immigration policies with a 65-song playlist titled “Fuck ICE”.

The outspoken musician and activist has assembled an eclectic collection of tracks spanning multiple decades and genres, all united in their political criticism of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s approach to immigrant detention and deportation, reports Rolling Stone.

The playlist emerges as Trump’s administration prepares to intensify its immigration crackdown, backed by substantial funding from what the administration calls its “Big Beautiful Bill”. Morello, a longtime Trump critic, describes the compilation as “a rocking little soundtrack to enjoy while you drive those bastards out of your neighbourhood” in his Instagram announcement.

The extensive tracklist showcases Morello’s commitment to musical diversity whilst maintaining a consistent anti-authoritarian message. Alongside his own solo material and Rage Against the Machine tracks, the playlist features an impressive array of artists including Bruce Springsteen, who has recently faced direct threats from Trump. The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, and Pearl Jam represent the rock contingent, whilst hip-hop is covered by Public Enemy and Ice Cube.

The selection deliberately spans multiple musical eras and styles, featuring punk icons The Clash, reggae influences from Bob Marley, folk legends Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, and contemporary acts like Idles and Rise Against. This breadth reinforces Morello’s message about celebrating diversity in the face of what he characterises as an increasingly authoritarian movement.

Morello’s collaborative efforts also feature prominently, with tracks he’s recorded alongside GZA, Cypress Hill, Vic Mensa, and Leikeli47 included in the mix. The playlist extends beyond mainstream rock and hip-hop to include Celtic punk from Dropkick Murphys, Ukrainian folk punk from Gogol Bordello, and country music from Willie Nelson, demonstrating the universal nature of resistance music.

Following his recent role as music director for Ozzy Osbourne’s final show in Birmingham, England, Morello announced his own upcoming tour dates. The tour kicks off on 13th November in Chicago, with the guitarist describing it as “the last big event before they throw us all in jail” on his social media platforms.
