Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee has released two new solo singles. The tracks ‘Tops’ and ‘Knock Me Down’ both come with videos directed by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst.

‘Knock Me Down’ features US hip hop artist Killvein, who released the three-track CANTOXII EP in May. ‘Tops’ includes vocals by LA-based, South African rapper Push Push. The ex-stripper Push Push, aka Nicci St. Bruce, made an impression with her 2019 single ‘INB4’.

Lee is largely absent from the Durst-directed videos, which centre on the featured vocalists. They’re both set in the same empty warehouse environment. In 2019, Durst directed and co-wrote the feature film The Fanatic. It stars John Travolta and currently has a 13% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Lee has also announced his new solo album Andro will be out on October 16th, 2020. The 13-track record is awash with guest vocalists. In addition to Killvein and Push PushAndro features Lukas Rossi, PAV4N, Shotty Horroh, Josh Todd, King Elle Noir, PLYA and Brooke Candy & Moon Bounce.

Track 7, ‘Caviar On a Paper Plate’, features Mickey Avalon. Remember Mickey Avalon? The MySpace rapper who released the 2006 single ‘My Dick’? It included such choice lyrics as, “My dick cost a late night fee/ Your dick got the HIV/ My dick plays on the double feature screen / Your dick went straight to DVD.” Those were different times.

Lee’s most recent solo LP was Tommyland: The Ride, which came out in 2005. That album also featured numerous guest vocalists, including Butch Walker, Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden.

Lee has since released one record with his rap rock project Methods of Mayhem, in which he shares lead vocal duties with John “J3” Allen III. He also reunited with his Mötley Crüe band mates Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil in 2018. Just this week the group confirmed their stadium tour with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett would be pushed back to the summer of 2021.
