It’s so exciting to know that the iconic surrealist experimental hip-hop group Curse Ov Dialect are back after a 6-year hiatus, and to mark their return they’ve unveiled their socially conscious, zonked-out new album Twisted Strangers.
Twisted Strangers see the group travelling further down their own eclectic musical path, revelling in the openness of their unusual sonic concoctions: other-worldly melodies punctuated with hard twisted beats.
Ahead of their time, the return of Curse Ov Dialect means conventions of hip-hop are blurred and boundaries are pushed further at a time in history where the world has caught up. Renowned for their non-conformist costumery and political ethos the enigmatic Australian group has garnered a strong worldwide cult following.

Samuel T Herring of Future Islands appears in this track and the song is about not fitting into a box in this world. We feel like twisted strangers that are constantly being gawked at.. internally we feel like this as well.
Night shoes
This is about music as a tool to change mentalities. A murderer a criminal or someone who feels alienated and about to take the wrong direction in life can listen to our insanity and feel and home within themselves.
Defy and Decay
To defy a decaying world if a mission in itself. Atarangi sparked this song and its a balance of self identification and feeling at odds with the world around you.How can we survive?

Is about not concreting your wisdom keep in mushy and adaptable.The song has a doomsday vibe and and the sounds of sirens and chaos with heavy scratching are in the chorus.

Inside the void of nothingness there is absolutely nothing.A different plane of existence.Volk also touches on how indigenous cultures are being forced christianity and how that blocks entrances to that another plane of existence. But his tale is one of someone who succeeds in this struggle.
