Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have shared good news for their fans, announcing that their score for HBO’s Watchmen is set to be released across three volumes.
For quite some time now, Trent Reznor and his Nine Inch Nails bandmate Atticus Ross have been making a bit of a name for themselves when it comes to film soundtracks.
Having kicked things off with The Social Network in 2010, films like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, and Bird Box followed in the ensuing years, turning the pair into something of an in-demand pair of composers.
Over the weekend though, fans got a taste of their latest efforts, offering a preview of their work on HBO’s adaptation of Watchmen before its premiere on Monday.
Now, fans of the series are in for some good news (and an expensive few months), with the soundtrack to be unleashed across a trilogy of vinyl-only releases.
Noted that the records are “specifically timed to be released throughout the first season of HBO’s Watchmen,” much of the information regarding these soundtrack albums are being kept secret, with even their artwork being kept under wraps at the current time.
However, what we do know is that the first volume is due for release on November 4th, while the second will follow on November 25th, before the third and final volume is released on December 16th.
With the music and packaging tying into the series’ plot, the Nine Inch Nails website notes that the soundtrack’s artwork “explores the culture of Watchmen America and provides revealing insights into the saga’s mythology and mysteries.”
Needless to say, if you’re a fan of Watchmen, or a diehard follower of anything that Trent Reznor has put his name to, then these will be vital additions to your collection.
