At a Nine Inch Nails show in Irving, Texas recently, frontman Trent Reznor took some time mid-set to rip into Texas senator Ted Cruz. After asking the crowd who voted for him, Reznor claimed that Cruz had asked for a spot on the band’s guest list for the show but the singer told him to “fuck off”.

Footage from Reddit shows the frontman saying “He might be here tonight, he was bugging to get on the guest list, and I told him to fuck off,” before telling the crowd about a previous tour they’d had the senator on the guest list for. “We put him on a few years ago, he drank all the beer, and was just a pain in the ass to be around. Can’t hold it against you.” Watch it go down below.

Whilst it would have been iconic if Cruz had been in attendance for the savage take down, it looks like the senator was in Washington DC on the day of the gig so it seems unlikely. Oh well!
