Australians love their music, there’s no two ways about it. With plenty of local and international artists being played every hour, triple j have been bringing music fans plenty of stunning tunes for well over 40 years now.

After a couple of years away from the ‘new music’ game, Client Liaison recently dropped their newest banger, ‘Survival In The City’. Just as fresh as ever, the track has been loved enough to become the thirteenth most-played track on the station this week. You can bet your bottom dollar that this one will be rising to the top in no time.
19. Aurora
Two years since she released her debut album, All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend, Norway’s Aurora recently returned with her latest single ‘Queendom,’ which is currently the most-played track on the station this week. The first taste of what we assume is her new album, we’re getting pretty excited to hear plenty more from this talented artist.
18. Skegss
They’ve been one of triple j listeners’ favourite acts for some time now, but after recently releasing their latest tune, ‘Up In The Clouds’, Skegss have seen themselves score the honour of having the second most-played track on triple j this week. Look out for these loveable larrikins when they hit the road in June!
17. Willaris. K
Just over a year ago, Willaris. K was a relatively unassuming NSW North Coast producer popping up his slick tunes on triple j Unearthed. Now, he’s been scoring enough love to see him enter the most-played artists for the week. With tracks like ‘Risen’, from his forthcoming EP, Alchemy, currently tearing up the airwaves, Willaris. K is going to be one of the biggest stars of Aussie music in 2018
16. Drake
Drake is gearing up to unleash his latest studio album, Scorpion, in just over a month, and fans have been loving his latest tunes. With tracks like ‘God’s Plan’ and ‘Diplomatic Immunity’ getting plenty of spins, it’s his latest tune (and what appears to be the album’s first single), ‘Nice For What’, that has listeners talking. Currently the 19th most-played track on the station, we’re sure that this new album will spawn a few more hits for ol’ Drizzy.

15. The Rubens
With The Rubens recently announcing that their new album, LO LA RU, is set for release in July, the group upped the ante by dropping their newest tune, a duet with Sarah called ‘Never Ever’. Having made the list of most-played tracks recently, you can be certain that the group’s new album will be spawning just a few more hits when it is released.
14. Amy Shark
Amy Shark has had one heck of a musical journey over the last couple of years, so it’s only fitting that she choose this time in her career to release that long-awaited debut album. With Love Monster set for a July release, Amy Shark’s ‘I Said Hi’ has been doing the rounds lately, currently holding down the position of eleventh most-played track for the week.
13. Baker Boy
Baker Boy had a pretty amazing year in 2017 with tracks like ‘Marryuna’ and ‘Cloud 9’, but it’s the release of his newest single, ‘Mr La Di Da Di’, that has proved that this success is in no way a fluke. Now all we have to do is sit back and wait for that debut album, which we’re sure is set to be an absolute banger.
12. Florence + The Machine
Last month, Florence + The Machine released ‘Sky Full Of Song’, their first new tune in over two years. Now, with ‘Hunger’ currently doing the rounds on the airwaves, and appearing as the third most-played track this week, the group’s newest album, High As Hope, is set for release next month and is on track to be one of the year’s biggest releases.
11. Remi
Remi recently dropped his stellar new single ‘My Family’, which has definitely resonated with triple j listeners, shooting up to the fifth most-played slot this week. Remi’s first tune since 2016, this killer track bodes well for what’s to come in the future.
10. CHVRCHES
Scotland’s CHVRCHES are getting to set to make their fully-fledged comeback with Love Is Dead, their first album in three years, later this week. With the group already on their way to Australia for Splendour In The Grass in July, you can be sure that this is just the tip of the iceberg for these brilliant tunemakers.
9. Ocean Alley
Having won fans all over the world with the release of their brilliant single ‘The Comedown’, last year, Ocean Alley released their debut album, Chiaroscuro, a couple of months back. Having served as triple j’s feature album as well, Chiaroscuro is a fresh collection of slick jams from this awesome group, with listeners loving the band’s genre-defying sound.
8. Khalid
He might only be 20, but Khalid possesses a voice and musical sensibility well beyond his years. His soulful crooning in the track ‘OTW (feat. Ty Dolla $ign & 6lack)’ has been seeing massive success making it the station’s 16th most-played track this week.
7. DMA’s
DMA’s recently returned with their latest album, For Now, and fans have been loving the group’s Britpop-infused tunes. With ‘Do I Need You Now?’ currently the eighth most-played track on the station this week, the group are undoubtedly on track for another amazing year.
6. Middle Kids
Middle Kids recently released their debut album, Lost Friends, and triple j listeners have been absolutely loving what they’ve heard. Winning plenty of love with tracks like ‘On My Knees’, you can be sure that you’ll be hearing plenty more of Middle Kids in the months to come.
5. Arctic Monkeys
After a five year gap between albums, Arctic Monkeys recently returned with their latest record, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. Somewhat of a stylistic departure for the group, the album has managed to break UK sales records and find itself all over the triple j airwaves. Let’s hope it’s not another five year wait between records.
4. Childish Gambino
When Childish Gambino dropped his latest tune, ‘This Is America’, just a couple of weeks back, the entire world sat up and took notice. With Gambino currently enjoying the most successful period of his career (including #1 spots on the US and Australian charts), we just hope that his upcoming album won’t be his last like he said it would be.
3. Odesza
Odesza only left the country a couple of months ago after visiting for this year’s Laneway Festival, showcasing the tracks from their newest record, the stunning A Moment Apart. While none of the group’s tunes have made the list of most-played songs for the week, their constant popularity is a testament to the brilliant music that they make.
2. Camp Cope
Camp Cope’s latest record, How To Socialise & Make Friends, was released a couple of months back, and since then, fans have been absolutely adoring the powerful sounds and passionate lyrics from this Melbourne trio. With none of their tracks on the most-played list this week, it just goes to show how much listeners are loving the entire catalogue of tunes that Camp Cope have created.
1. Parkway Drive
Australia’s metalcore legends Parkway Drive recently returned with their latest album, Reverence. Their first album since 2015’s Ire, the record has scored itself a #1 debut on the ARIA charts, the honour of being triple j’s feature album recently, and has even seen tracks like ‘The Void’ and ‘Prey’ get a decent airing on the triple j airwaves.
