As usual, it’s been a pretty big week for music on triple j, with some of the finest local and international acts getting some pretty solid airplay. But just what were listeners loving the most this week? What were the tunes that dominated the airwaves, and who were the artists that now have heaps of new fans after plenty of exposure on triple j?

20. Juice WRLD
Already heading our way for Falls Festival over the new year, Juice WRLD has been taking over the world with his fresh new sound. Latest single ‘Armed And Dangerous’ has been taking over the airwaves recently though, scoring enough love to see it become the eleventh most-played track this week.
19. Bring Me The Horizon
Bring Me The Horizon are gearing up to release their new album – amo – next month, and fans have been loving their new tunes. Along with ‘Mantra’, the group’s latest tune ‘Wonderful Life’ has become one of most-played track on triple j lately, and serves as a reminder of just how popular these English rockers are.
18. DMA’s
DMA’s returned with their latest album – For Now – earlier this year, and fans have been loving the group’s Britpop-infused tunes. While they’re nowhere to be seen in this week’s most-played tracks, it just goes to show how much fans have been loving this amazing group’s brilliant songs.
17. Crooked Colours
Crooked Colours have been getting us excited about the release of a new album for some time now, and the more new tunes we hear, the more we’re sure it’s set to be a banger. Releasing ‘Do It Like You’ recently, it’s currently serving as this week’s twelfth most-played tune, and proving that Crooked Colours are well on their way to another amazing year.
16. Nothing But Thieves
Nothing But Thieves might have wrapped up their Aussie tour a few months back, but fans are keeping the English rockers at the forefront of their minds. With ‘Forever & Ever More’ recently serving as one of the station’s most-played tracks, triple j listeners are keen to hear plenty more from this stunning quintet.

15. Dominic Fike
Dominic Fike has been blowing up on the blogosphere over the last few months, sparking a bidding war between labels as a result. Now, the 22-year-old’s hype has come over to Australia, where his stellar track ‘3 Nights’ is currently the ninth most-played tune on triple j this week.
14. Broods
Broods’ new record – Don’t Feed The Pop Monster – is on its way in early 2019, and lead single ‘Peach’ has been doing the rounds for a while now. With a new single on the airwaves, ‘Everything Goes (Wow)’ is currently this week’s eighth most-played track.
13. Winston Surfshirt
2017 was truly the year of Winston Surfshirt, serving as permanent fixtures on this list, and even getting Elton John on their side. Now, they’re back with a new single. Titled ‘For The Record’, it’s ostensibly the first taste of their second album, and currently this week’s seventh most-played track.
12. Leikeli47
Leikeli47 doesn’t boast much of an online presence, choosing instead to let her music speak for itself. Despite this, she’s managed to score a feature album spot recently, with Acrylic receiving plenty of airplay in the process, and ‘Roll Call’ becoming this week’s 19th most-played track.
11. Montaigne
Montaigne recently returned with her first new tune in two years, and fans have been loving this long-awaited jam. Titled ‘For Your Love’, it’s described by this amazing musician as being “darker” and “more revealing”, but listeners have loved it enough for the track to become this week’s sixth most-played song.

10. RÜFÜS DU SOL
RÜFÜS DU SOL released their third album – Solace – recently, and fans dove right into this stunning collection of tracks. With the band frequently appearing on this list, listeners have been loving tunes like ‘Underwater’, ‘No Place’, and ‘Treat You Better’, enough to see RÜFÜS DU SOL become one of triple j’s most-played acts this week.
9. Tired Lion
Just weeks before the end of the year, Tired Lion decided to gift us one of the bangers of 2018. Written about the departure of their former guitarist, ‘With Or Without’ has been resonating with listeners and is currently this week’s fourth most-played track.
8. Hilltop Hoods
Hilltop Hoods recently announced the release of their next album – The Great Expanse – and fans can’t wait. With the band releasing their new single ‘Leave Me Lonely’ in anticipation of the record, the single’s been doing the rounds quite a bit, currently serving as this week’s third most-played track.
7. Grimes
Grimes recently dropped her first new tune in three years and fans have been going wild for it. A collaboration with HANNA, ‘We Appreciate Power’ is definitely being appreciated by her legions of fans, serving as this week’s second most-played track.
6. A$AP Rocky
It feels like just yesterday that A$AP Rocky released his latest album, Testing, but he’s already back with a banger of a new track. Titled ‘Sundress’, the Danger Mouse-produced, Tame Impala-sampling tune is being adored by listeners, currently sitting at number fifth on this week’s list of most-played tracks.

5. Mark Ronson
Mark Ronson has made his long-awaited return, recently dropping the Miley Cyrus-featuring ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’. The first taste of his upcoming album, it’s currently the most-played track on the station this week, and we can’t wait to hear more.
4. The Wombats
Honorary Aussies The Wombats recently wrapped up yet another Australian tour, and their tunes have been tearing up the airwaves as always. With tracks like ‘Bee Sting’ and ‘Oceans’ from the expanded edition of Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life doing the rounds, the latter is currently this week’s tenth most-played track.
3. BROCKHAMPTON
BROCKHAMPTON released their new album – Iridescence – just a while back, and it’s an absolute belter. With the group having recently wrapped up an Aussie tour with a stunning Like A Version performance, listeners have been loving the vast amount of brilliant tunes this stunning collective have been offering up. Needless to say, there’s a good chance BROCKHAMPTON will be remaining one of the most vital hip-hop groups for quite some time.
2. The Rubens
Recently wrapping up a huge national tour, The Rubens are still dominating the airwaves, almost six months on from the release of their latest album. With the band’s latest single, ‘God Forget’, recently serving as one of the station’s most-played tracks, there’s a good chance you might be hearing plenty more of these talented musicians for a while.

Having been on the scene for close to a decade, J.I.D released his latest album – DiCaprio 2 – just last month, and fans have been loving it. Serving as triple j’s feature album, and boasting a number of absolute bangers, it’s clear that J.I.D is on the way to becoming one of this year’s most acclaimed artists.
