This week has seen some pretty amazing additions to the triple j playlist, with plenty of well-deserved Aussie acts getting the recognition they need. Of course, it can’t all be homegrown talent, with lots of amazing international acts getting in on the action as well. But which were the acts whose tunes got spun the most this week?

20. Client Liaison

After a couple of years away from the ‘new music’ game, Client Liaison recently dropped their newest banger, ‘Survival In The City’. Just as fresh as ever, the track has been scoring some major airplay lately, now we just have to sit back and wait for that new album!

19. Confidence Man

They might be one of the more divisive groups in recent times, but there’s no denying the fun that Confidence Man throw into the music that they make. Recently serving as triple j’s feature album, Confidence Man have been scoring plenty of airplay thanks to their stunning collection of dance-pop gems.

18. Moaning Lisa

Canberra Unearthed outfit Moaning Lisa have been making music for a couple of years now, but audiences are now sitting up and taking notice of this brilliant quartet. With ‘Good’ currently the 18th most-played track this week, you can be sure there’s more to come from the amazing musos.

17. The Presets

The Presets recently released their first album in almost six years, Hi Viz, and fans have been loving everything they’ve heard. Full of the brilliant hits that we’ve come to know and love from the lads, the album is on track to be one of the year’s biggest, with ‘Downtown Shutdown’ serving as the station’s tenth most-played track this week.

16. Billie Eilish

While 16-year-old Billie Eilish took us by surprise last year thanks to the infectious ‘Bellyache’, she’s on track for another stellar year with ‘lovely’, her collaboration with Khalid, currently serving as this week’s ninth most-played track. Get ready to see this one top the chart in no time!

15. A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky released his latest album, Testing, back in May, and in addition to hitting #5 on the ARIA charts, it’s also scored a bit of airplay on triple j as well, with latest single ‘Praise The Lord (Da Shine)’ (which features a guest spot from Skepta), managing to be named the eighth most-played track on the station this week.

14. Luca Brasi

Luca Brasi have been going from strength to strength with every piece of music that they release. With their latest album, Stay, being released recently, and their single ‘Clothes I Slept In’ having creept into the most-played tracks recently, the future is looking bright for these Tasmanian rockers.

13. Riton & Kah-Lo

While British DJ Riton and Nigerian singer/songwriter Kah-Lo have been releasing a number of tunes together in recent times, their latest, ‘Ginger’, has clearly resonated with triple j listeners. So much so that it has managed to score the honour of sixth most-played track this week.

12. Mallrat

We recently saw Mallrat and Allday team up to deliver ‘UFO’, the product of two of Australia’s best modern hip-hop luminaries coming together to serve up an absolute belter of a track. Now Mallrat has released her latest EP, In The Sky, and it has been going gangbusters on the airwaves, with ‘Groceries’ becoming this week’s 19th most-played track.

11. Thundamentals

Not keen to rest on their laurels for too long, Thundamentals are right back at it again, releasing their newest single ‘I Miss You’ just a couple of weeks back. The first taste of their new album, the tune has managed to score the honour of this week’s seventh most-played track.

10. Cosmo’s Midnight

After plenty of time spent keeping us waiting, Cosmo’s Midnight recently released their stunning debut album, What Comes Next. Full of brilliant tunes and having served as the station’s feature album, the twin-brother duo have finally given listeners a full collection of their slick tunes.

9. GLADES

GLADES have been blowing up over the last year, seeing massive success thanks to their wide array of brilliant tunes. With ‘Not About You’ currently serving as this week’s third most-played track, you can expect to hear plenty more of GLADES in the future!

8. Courtney Barnett

Courtney Barnett recently made her full-blown return to the charts with her second album, Tell Me How You Really Feel, and listeners have been lapping up every single song from the record. With tracks like ‘Nameless, Faceless’ and ‘Need A Little Time’ still doing the rounds, this is certainly not the last you’ve heard from ol’ Courts.

7. Rüfüs Du Sol

Rüfüs recently made their big comeback to the world of Aussie music, dropping a taste of their new album with ‘No Place’, and formally announcing they’re to be known as Rüfüs Du Sol from here on out. A rose by any other name certainly does smell as sweet, because ‘No Place’ has been tearing up the airwaves enough to be given the honour of this week’s second most-played track yet again.

6. Ocean Alley

Having won fans all over the world with the release of their brilliant single ‘The Comedown’, last year, Ocean Alley released their debut album, Chiaroscuro, a while back now. Having also served as triple j’s feature album, Chiaroscuro showcases the group’s slick jams and stunning sound, with listeners continuing to love everything they hear from this amazing collective.

5. Jack River

After plenty of time giving us some sweet tunes, Jack River recently released her debut album, Sugar Mountain, recently. While tracks like ‘Ballroom’ and ‘Limo Song’ doing the rounds in recent months, this new collection of tracks is making listeners completely fall even more in love with this stunning musician.

4. Nicole Millar

Nicole Millar’s debut album, Excuse Me, was released at the start of June, with the music legend also recently wrapping up a national tour to help her fans celebrate the new record. With tracks such as ‘Gimme A Break’ still doing the rounds on the airwaves, it looks like we could have another contender for ‘album of the year’ on our hands.

3. Tash Sultana

Tash Sultana is set to finally drop her debut album, Flow State, at the end of next month and fans have been loving the record’s new single (and this week’s most-played track), ‘Salvation’. With Tash Sultana’s recent history as a triple j favourite, you can be sure that this is just the start of another massive year for the brilliant musician.

Trophy Eyes recently announced that their latest album, The American Dream, is on the way, and to help make this news even more exciting, the group also released their latest single, ‘You Can Count On Me’, which has become this week’s fourth most-played track. Keep a close eye on Trophy Eyes, ’cause you can count on them being one of this year’s most popular names once again.

With The Rubens recently recently their new album, LO LA RU, and scoring the feature album spot, the group are well on their way to another brilliant year.
