When Newcastle punk trailblazer’s Trophy Eyes said “I won’t sleep until Sydney knows my name”, they absolutely meant it. The band have utilised a skywriter to emblazon the stratosphere above Sydney’s harbour with their name and a figure out. It’s the glorious opulence that we deserve.
The band are set to head across Australia’s east coast in February next year for their Figure 8 tour. They’ve enlisted the help of Blessed and Slowly Slowly frontman Ben Stewart’s side project, Congrats.

The tour kicks off on Thursday, February 13th at The Triffid in Brisbane, before heading to Sydney for a triumphant Valentine’s Day hometown show — I don’t know about you but nothing screams out undying love quite like being launched into the air to the jubilant screams of ‘Chlorine’— and finishing things off at The Croxton in Melbourne on Saturday, February 15th.
The band released their last record, the life-affirming The American Dream, back in 2018.
