This Friday, Twin Peaks’ fourth studio album Lookout Low will finally be with us.

Until then, though, the band has shared some more new sounds from it to keep the appetites whetted, in new single ‘Oh Mama’.

Twin Peaks’ latest comes packed with good vibes that fall in line with previous singles ‘Dance Through It’ and ‘Ferry Song’, while the Alec Basse and Max Moore-directed music video could easily have the band performing in some kind of Lynch-constructed Lodge.

“‘Oh Mama’ is a song about the moon and lunacy,” Twin Peaks’ Clay Frankel has explained. “We did three takes and used the first. I had a loose plan for the lyrics. Some of them I made up as I went along.”

The easy going nature of the song matches the aesthetic Twin Peaks have been presenting for years now, yet it’s never been tiresome. For their new record, the band have worked with legendary producer Ethan Johns (U2, Paul McCartney) across ten track that have been put together with the aim of capturing the live energy Twin Peaks have been doling out all over the place in recent memory.

Lookout Low follows on from the acclaimed Twin Peaks album Down In Heaven, which scored lucrative feature album spots with both triple j and major community radio stations. The Chicago group properly propelled on to the Australian radar last year on tour with Skegss, the connection between Twin Peaks and Aussie fans has only gotten stronger.

The band will be releasing Lookout Low on Friday, September 13th.
