When cash doesn’t rule everything around you…

Two men have been accused of scamming a range of luxury hotels and recording studios in Atlanta, posing as members of the Wu-Tang Clan.

Walker Washington and Aaron Barnes-Burpo allegedly made their way around the city pretending to be employees of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company as well as members of Wu-Tang, racking up a US$45,000 unpaid hotel bill at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. At the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the duo left without paying a US$39,000 hotel bill.

Luxury stays weren’t the only sites Washington and Barnes-Burpo were getting around either. They were also charged with scamming two Atlanta recording studios which ended up losing more than US$17,000.

Prosecutors detailed that the pair used stolen and/or fake credit cards and had hired a fraudulently rented Rolls Royce Phantom.

Both men have been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. They were arrested at another hotel site after management suspected fraud and contacted Roc Nation direct.

According to the Atlanta Constitution Journal, the two men had attempted to access their reservation of 10 rooms along with a group of associates. It was then that the hotel’s director suspected that something wasn’t quite right.
