Tone Deaf’s spies have been at it again and we can pretty confidently say that U2 are about to announce an Australian tour which will be packing out stadiums around the country in December. Bono’s back injury – which led to them cancelling their headline slot at Glastonbury and a string of US dates, as well as costing insurers around $20 million – had left the Australia and New Zealand leg of the tour which had been pencilled in over a year ago in doubt. However, it looks like we can expect a tour announcement in the very near future once they’ve confirmed their rescheduled US dates. The band’s manager, Paul McGuiness, told a source “We’ve nearly done it (rearrange the dates) so I hope we’ll be able to announce that (the Australia and New Zealand tour) shortly.”
